How we research

Last updated October 29, 2026

Every guide on Softsieve goes through the same steps.

1. Start from real questions

We begin with questions people actually ask in community forums, Q&A sites, and vendor communities, and we list those sources with each guide.

2. Check facts against official sources

Prices, plan limits, and features come from each vendor's own pricing page, help center, or documentation. We note the date we checked, and link every source at the bottom of the guide. When official sources disagree or we can't confirm something, we say so instead of guessing.

3. Include the downsides

Each tool gets its weaknesses and a "who should skip it" section. We don't use exaggerated claims like "best ever" or "guaranteed results."

4. Separate review

Before publishing, each guide goes through a separate review that checks claims against the cited sources, removes overstated language, and confirms the affiliate disclosure is present. Guides that fail are sent back for revision.

5. Keep it current

Software prices change often. We re-check prices when we update a guide and show the "Updated" date at the top.

What we don't do

  • We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done. Unless a guide says otherwise, it's based on official documentation, public reviews, and user questions.
  • We don't accept payment for rankings or placement.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to help research and draft guides. Every factual claim must be backed by a cited source, and each guide is reviewed against those sources before publication.
